Complements Cathedral of Learning

A perfect follow-up to the Cathedral of Learning & the docent was very helpful & knowledgeable, e.g. recommending a great used bookstore in the area & restaurant.

This is just as beautiful as some of the gothic chapels I have been in Europe. You will just be in awe as you look at all the stain glass and wood carvings. There are some many details it will take you many visits to truly appreciate all the details. This is a must do if you are in Oakland

Brought in a school choir here for a concert where they were the stars. Beautiful chapel in a very beautiful setting. I would definitely recommend a visit. Plenty of other historic places to see right nearby.

A must see while in Pittsburgh. If you are lucky enough to arrive while the organist is practicing you will be in for quite a treat.

Magnificent building on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh used mainly for weddings scheduled by time limitation. A great tourist attraction.

Thanks to the reviews here we decided to visit the chapel in our 1 day visit to Pittsburgh. Luckily our day coincided with the Heinz Chapel Choir Chamber Choir Festival, where 2 selected high school chamber choirs join in the performance. The chapel is a very unique, intimate place for chamber choir, where the voices vibrate and resonate in the... More

Heinz is gorgeous-- it's a smaller-scale replica of a French church, and it sits on the edge of the University of Pittsburgh campus in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh. Call Pitt beforehand to see when the chapel will be open. If you're lucky, you'll get to hear one of the amazing concerts that happen frequently there-- or perhaps you can... More

I had the opportunity to visit the Heinz Memorial Chapel and was overwhelmed by the grandeur of this chapel. The windows portray not just biblical persons but men and an equal number of women who have influenced our lives under the headings of courage, truth, temperance and tolerance. The wood carvings are intricate and some are whimsical. I also had... More

Heinz Chapel is on par with any cathedral or church we saw throughout Europe. I had no idea how beautiful it was and grew up in Pittsburgh. The stained glass is exquisite and especially stunning when the sun shines through the windows. Definitely worth a visit!
