A tad touristy, but otherwise not bad at all.

We had a few hours to kill so stepping into this tourist-trap with our eyes wide open. Nevertheless, it really *IS* worth your time.

Authentic historic home includes some exhibits inside, and a very nice gift shop. The grounds can be toured for a small fee, and there are also motor tours available. There is a historic mile marker from 1793 out front.

We took the 90 minutes tour of the Amish countryside. It was almost a private tour as the bus is not large and there was only another family besides us. We had a very friendly, attentive and knowledgable guide. The tour stops twice in a local grocery and a local farm with handmade things for sale which is a bit... More

The Amish have become very savvy business owners and count on tourism to make their living. They have maintained much their traditional way of life in spite of this. The paradox of their two worlds is an interesting reality. Thank you for your review. More

A nice Amish heritage spot located improbably between a Target and a Cici's Pizza (I get the feeling that the farm was there first!). Items represent Amish home and farm life. There's also a great, very informative Amish Countryside bus tour of Lancaster County, with stops at places to shop for gifts and foods. Excellent if you want to see... More

By leaving the driving to us, you are free to sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic countryside. The tour is fully narrated and the driver stops are always a hit with our guests. The farmhouse tour gives you a foundation before heading out or can complete your visit while viewing the interior of an actual Amish home (now a... More

A visit to the Amish Farm and house is a wonderful way to learn about the Amish way of life. Admission includes a tour of the house and a wealth of information by a very knowledgeable guide. After the house tour, you can visit the various exhibits on the farm grounds. We enjoyed visiting with a friendly woodworking craftsman who... More

All of our guides are experienced and offer an inside look at the Amish culture. Many have personal anecdotes they are happy to share. Chris, our woodcarver and Katie our Amish schoolteacher enjoy talking with our visitors as well. So glad you enjoyed your recent visit. More

We went there as a part of a package tour. It is interesting to know about the Amish people settled in US coming from Germany and Switzerland.Opened nearly 60 years back, this farm and house reflects Amish style of living in Lancaster . First we were shown the Amish attraction like prayer room, kitchen and bed room showing utensils, food... More

Why do you go to Lancaster? Is it for the shopping? A nice place to eat? Or might it be to learn about the Amish life. A stop to an Amish farm would do the trick. Located in an usually spot (next to target-I can remember when Target wasn't there) it's parking area is small now because of all the... More

Thanks for your review and recommendation. We do offer several options, but to be clear, the 90 minute tour is a Countryside BUS tour. We do offer horse and buggy rides during the height of the season (summer months), but not everyday. There is a tour to suit everyone here. And each season offers a different view of the Amish... Thought we would take the children to this Amish farm since it was next to Target,! The bus ride was good and the children enjoyed walking the farm and they made their own jump rope.

Found this place during a cross country road trip by typing in Amish in Google. We were very surprised to find it was in a commercial area right next to a Target! We were on short time so we decided to do it anyway. We did the self guided tour which did not include the house which was okay because... More

Me and my grandmother went on the premium package tour and it was a nice experience. The countryside tour bus guide was very informative the whole trip. We stopped at a canned goods store that had samples of the canned goods. The farm was also pretty and had little buildings to go in and animals (horses, goats, turkeys) to pet.... More
