This museum covered two big things, both which really taught us something. The part of immigrants was very instructive especially the challenges they faced in discrimination and their family life. Allowed me to understand my father's early life down in Pittsburgh, where he was son of Ukrainian immigrants. The steel exhibit was good but especially the movie. Such a big... More

I recently visited the center with a group of visually impaired secondary students. If you are a student of history, the center is intriguing. Each visitor assumes the identity of an immigrant and walks the walk of that person in reference to job procurement, living arrangements, etc. specific to the early days of steel production in Johnstown. I would not... More

The history of iron and steelmaking in Johnstown exhibition was put together by curator Tom Leslie, a former steel worker. He has put together an interesting, fantastic collection of artifacts and information that will keep the interest of anyone who has ties to Johnstown, the steel industry in the US, or even history alone. There is a giant screen movie... More

Here with my granddaughter and her friend for a Princess tea party. What a fun time! The girls were treated royally, and loved their play time in the children's museum.

Having immigrated here myself, I really found this venue interesting. The first floor interactive immigration display is awesome. I enjoyed a leisurely walk, being able to stop and read all the information and listen to the short commentaries. It made me appreciate what our ancestors had to persevere. Their initiative was truly amazing. Buy the combo ticket for the Flood... More

It's an interactive museum of displays about people immigrating to Johnstown. You get a card with an immigrant's name and use it to interact with the displays. It does give you a good idea of how immigrants felt. It is interesting, however some of the phones that explain the displays don't work. It gives good information about how Johnstown was... More
