there are a lot of well marked trails on Lord Howe and there is a good map available to show you where they all are. Choose walks to your ability and fitness. I would not tackle Mount Gower for instance without being fit, confident and...More

It's a much easier walk approached from the Lagoon road/soldiers creek track to the viewing platform. The track up from the airport is very steep in places and a much longer treck

World class walking trails. There is something for everyone from extremely mountain climbing to casual scenic strolls that would be suitable for any level of fitness. All have great views and plenty of wildlife to take in.

We did Old Gulch and Malabar on different days. Old Gulch was from a tour where we stopped in to North Bay - walking past nesting birds, through the trees and easily get to the rocky Old Gulch. Malabar was a bit harder & longer...More

The hikes on Lord Howe are magnificent. So pure and pristine with magnificent vistas from every side. There are unique plants and birds around every turn. Bring your camera and take your time to absorb it all.

A mixture of trails from flat, through hilly to ''Oh my god, that was steep". Most have great views of the island - just be aware it can be very hot, so lots of water needed. Usually well sign posted and very well maintained.

Great walking trails, geared to different levels of fitness. Scenery is brilliant. If you're fit enough do the Goat house Cave and Mt Gower climb although Mt Gower climb is only done with a guide and costs $100 for the full day...well worth it for...More

If you are mobile, make sure you walk as many trails as you can. Each one is different, and varying levels...views are stunning and the Bird life and vegetation is a must to see.

Different levels of difficulty, something for everyone and the views are magnificent. I'm not a normal hiker but managed it well.

We were disappointed with out visit to Lord Howe Island. We were left feeling that the locals did not want us there. The shops prices were extravagant - three times what you would pay in a corner store on the mainland. Restaurant prices were double....More
