Fantastic to see the stars and planets so close up it was like you can touch them, our guide was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had, however I do think it's a little over priced for what you actually get..

Located approximately half an hour drive from Coonabarabran is the Siding Spring Observatory Visitor Centre and telescope exhibition. There is plenty of parking available for visitors with public toilets, café and a gift shop on site. A concrete path up quite a steep incline takes you to the telescope exhibition area which may be accessed by a lift or stairs.... More

Very beautiful scenery, lots to see in science section, we should have done a tour. Cafe friendly and obliging. Limited choice of food.

I was disappointed as there was an uphill walk from the visitor information Center to the telescope. Without having to ask i was told to drive my car up the hill even though the signage said no entry. I was told that this did not apply to people with mobility disability. Thank you i loved my visit.

Peter provided a informative and interesting tour of the site which was accessible to both Mr 12 and both parents. Highly recommended!

There's a little museum, cafe and gift shop here as well as an observation area in the observation tower itself. You can watch the giant telescope moving around.

Siding Springs Observatory is interesting to look around . There is a display inside the actual observatory and a view of the inside through glass . The 5 minute video presentation is also interesting . The view over the Warrumbungles is spectacular.

Great venue for viewing the beautiful Warrumbungles. There is a cafe and a Tourist information centre that gives you a great insight into the surrounding area and events. Nice coffee and morning tea at the cafe, very friendly service

Apparently the views are amazing, but is was wear, cold and foggy when we visited. We didn't mind, just added to the atmosphere. Observatory was closed - Sunday - but we really enjoyed the visitor centre.
