Motherhood and nature interwoven - you can feel it. Apparently the Aboriginal women have the Bottlense Dolphine as their totem and have come to parts of the National Park for millions of years to give birth to their babies. You can feel that it is a very special precious place.

Amazing spot! We came across this area on our walk to the lighthouse. Wow lovely sea breeze certainly helps to keep you cool on a sunny day. Fantastic place for photos. Perfect place to visit and relax taking in the view.

Tallow Beach can be seen from the Byron lighthouse but it's a wonder more people don't go there. It is worlds apart from the crowds in Byron. We had the beach to ourself and just beautiful sand, clear water and some chatty birds for company. Do yourself a favour and take a book and park up for the day!

Whoever complained about this beach is batcrap crazy! No animals anywhere in sight, no trash anywhere in sight... just the most beautiful beach you could hope for! Great for experienced surfers and beginners alike, and us old folks simply boogie boarding (in 60's) All the beaches in Byron are dropdead gorgeous but for peace and quiet go here You can... More

Too many tourists and the once beautiful place gets trashed. Wild duff parties, noise and rubbish, dogs despite dog ban, fires despite fire ban, no respect for the wildlife sanctuary. Recently salmonella outbreak at the tea tree lake, not safe for swimming anymore.

Rubbish everywhere , the site of several doof parties where several hundred youth from all over....South Americans figure prominently.....trample birds nests, light fires and otherwise show complete disrespect for the National Park. Such a shame

I ride my bike through this small park on my way to town. There is an asphalt path as well as sandy trails leading to Tallow Beach. Uncrowded & "wild".

Away form the maddening crowd! Lovely fire trails and very long beach walks ( lets just say, many miles....). Not a beach to swim at as there is no life guards, although for children there is a delightful lagoon to paddle in. Please respect the National park and don't leave the rubbish!

You can take this walk starting from Main Beach carpark, or further along at Captain Cooks carpark, from The Pass carpark or closer still from Wategoes Beach car park (if you're lucky enough to find one). For your first time I would suggest starting from Wategoes, the climb is relatively steep, but take your time and take in the views!... More
