A great day out that we had planned for an uncertain weather day. Starting off in the cafe where we enjoyed a great pasty followed by a tour of the mine site which showed much of the history and was brought truly alive by the...More

The visit to Tin Mine was excellent, very interesting and lots to see. Cafe a different story. Slow service and poor food. Soup...resembled nothing like 'soup',... it was disgusting.

A really interesting visit some of the best highlight were "the dry" and of course going underground also our guide for the underground. "The dry" is in simples terms is the miners locker room, but it's truly so much more than that. The history and...More

I was totally amazed by our visit to Geevor. We took 34 Spanish school children and we were all extremely impressed by the whole thing. Clint and his team made it so interesting. It really was a memorable trip. The kids loved panning for gems...More

Called in here for lunch with two elderly relatives and were well catered for. Excellent food and good portions. Did not have a chance to look at the mine, but will return to do so. Good gift shop.

This is a tour with a difference both above and below ground. For sure the Cornish Miners had it tough on this windswept hill with some of the shaft going under the sea and deep down in the ground. The tours are good with well...More

I am only reviewing the cafe at Geevor Mine as I didn't venture underground. What a surprise! It is in an interesting old industrial building that has been converted into a characterful cafe. There is a blackboard with specials on it, but there are much...More

Cornwall has more mines then pasties it seems, while most are relics of stone chimneys and engine houses Geevor is very different. A modern mine preserved in time to explain the story in detail whilst retaining the original features where possible. The site is mainly...More

Went having been told their pasties were the best. We arrived just after 12 and bought the last 2. Why do they run out so early and why are the sold ones still on display. Bad management. Good coffee but such slow service. Pasties were...More

Had an amazing day today at Geevor Tin Mine, a quite humbling but most interesting day out. The underground tour was brilliant and I'd highly recommend that, as was the whole site. Talking to some of the miners who actually worked there was so interesting....More

Hello James, Dogs on leads are most welcome anywhere on the mine site and the surrounding footpaths. They cannot, however, go underground or in our shop and cafe. Best wishes.

There are slopes and steps within the mine but access as far as I could see was good yes there will be restrictions but I would not see this ruining a good day out.

Geevor is not associated with the National Trust. I believe it was initially developed by a collective of ex-miners, this review is not accurate.

Hello Ruby S. Thank you for getting in contact and allowing me the opportunity to clear up any confusion. Geevor Tin Mine was purchased by Cornwall County Council in 1992, and over the winter of 1992/3, volunteers, many... More
