About
GLAZED EXPRESSION is a studio gallery, in the picturesque west cornish town of Helston. Situated perfectly in the center of bustling Meneage Street, with ample car parking close at hand. Glazed Expression is the perfect stop off for anyone wishing to acquire some of the most exquisite ceramics and fine art available in the area. You will find the gallery space a comfortable and welcoming space to view the arts and crafts available, affording a very different atmosphere to most white space galleries. We aim to showcase art in a more homely environment, inviting customers to view the work on more familiar terms. To compliment the gallery Glazed Expression also has a working ceramic studio. Ady Barker is resident artist creating beautiful thrown and hand built artifacts, that can be purchased from the gallery. He also provides regular classes that can be easily booked through this site or at the gallery in person.

Excellent place to come and play with clay. The owners were very inviting and gave clear explanations to ensure everyone made the best piece they could. Wonderful environment, definitely would recommend! Great communication after when pieces have been fired and ready to glaze. The children around us had a great time and made lots of beautiful treasures!

Amazing place. The owners are so lovely and welcoming. They made me a vase to paint even though it's not something they usually offer. So affordable as well. Took my dog for a paw print impression in clay, it was then friend and I could take my toddler in to paint it. Then it was glazed and fired for me. It's adorable and only cost £6! Winner for entertaining my toddler by 3 shop trips to get his doggy art.
Highly recommend.

Took part in introduction to clay prep and throwing, slip and trimming and underglazing and glazing over 3 days - really lovely experience! Ady is very knowledgable and patient, always there on hand to help and a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

Walking down helston high Street I spotted glazed expression and had a look in the window. The shop was full beautiful pieces of pottery. I was greeted with a very friendly hello and a big smile and soon got to chatting. I then spotted the the pay and play clay and arrange to come back later that day with my daughter.
We had a great time making bits and pieces. Returning days later to paint them ready for glazing. The amount of time they spent with us to get the results we wanted was amazing the amount they charged.
We genuinely had a brilliant time and I can't wait to go back and have a go on the potters wheel.

We stumbled upon this little gem of a place with the most welcoming of people. We did the 'play with clay' session with our 7 and 9 year old, who loved the experience. Between us we made lots of lovely clay items and it really bought out our creative side. We visited twice - once for making the items and then again a few days later to paint them once they've been fired in the kiln. If you're on holiday go at the start of your trip so you can enjoy completing your masterpieces :-)
Tess was so welcoming and the studio was so relaxing. It was great to spend some quality time as a family. We have lots of happy memories when we look at the pieces we made. We're not arty but were really surprised with how well they turned out! Highly recommended for families, couples or friends. It was the highlight of our trip to Cornwall and we're looking forward to visiting again next year.

Such a beautiful little shop, filled with lots of unique creations. My son and I booked in to their ‘play with clay’ session. We both really enjoyed the experience and using our imaginations to create some creatures. The atmosphere was very calm and welcoming, suitable for any age and ability. Very affordable and I am so glad there is somewhere local to do such an activity with or without children. I will definitely be using them again to create, or simply buy one of their gifts as a present for family and friends.

Friendly lovely staff. You can take items home design and paint they do the rest. Amazing shop and being interactive creating your own art is what it’s all about. It is the best activity in Helston. Everyone should visit and enjoy the atmosphere.
