The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic houses one of the world's largest collections of items relating to witchcraft, the occult and magic. With over 3000 objects, a wise woman's cottage, a herb garden and a shrine it is a memorable place. It has been in the picturesque Cornish coastal village of Boscastle since 1961 and is one of Cornwall's most popular museums rated highly on TripAdvisor. The Museum intrigues visitors with its collections of charms, curses, herbs and healing and sea witchcraft. Some of our most popular items are magical tools such as glass knitting needles, objects which were used for scrying such as black mirrors, crystals and crystal balls and our collection of protection talismans made by soldiers in the trenches of World War One. The Museum also has an extensive library with other 7000 books and an archive of documents which can be viewed online or visited by appointment.

Museum is located in Boscastle near the National Trust information centre so there is no parking on site. It's spread over two floors and full of interesting artefacts and information. Entrance fee is £5 which we found a little expensive for a museum. Photography was allowed and it was an enjoyable visit especially for those interested in witchcraft. Recommended length... More

A man I met at Tintagel told me to visit. I am so glad I did .it is fascinating I learnt that knitting with black wool and chanting then burning the finished item casts spell I shall be trying this. Lots of information and historical facts. I love this place. An Aladins cave of witchcraft And you can take photos

Such a fascinating museum! The collection is really like nothing else. You need a while to go through everything here but it's definitely worth it. You can also buy incense and beautiful posters from the shop.

This was my second visit to this museum and it was just as good. There are all manner of the history of the genre and it looks at it in a very unprejudiced presentation. It's fun too. Also when you're looking at exhibits there are often drawers underneath, and these include additional information....there is a lot of items here...it is... More

A fascinating & objective overview of the history of witchcraft that covers the truth, the legends, the misconceptions & the popular interpretations of this often misunderstood group of people over a two floor museum. Located in the quaint harbor village of Boscastle, Cornwall, not at all far from the National Trust Visitor Center, which itself is worth a visit, the... More

My husband and I run a paranormal and anomaly group of consultants in Canada and I am a working Kenning Medium. I've had dreams of this place leading up to our visit. I was not disappointed! After the flood, I was worried a lot of the items would be damaged but they informed me it took 2 years to rebuild... More

Museum of witchcraft and magic; clearly maintained by a team with passion and enthusiasm. Some beautiful items, some interesting artifacts, some preserved cats, some downright creepy superstitious stuff and a great deal of folklore, some of it of dubious origin! There's things which might scare younger ones...and in places it's heavy on the text - but absolutely worth a visit,... More
