After a walk round the ground on a beautiful autumn day, we went for coffee and a snack. There were wooden picnic tables set out in the courtyard and it was glorious to sit out and enjoy fresh scones, and cakes.

Horace Walpole described Osterley as ‘the palace of palaces’. His own house, not far away at Strawberry Hill, was an extravaganza of Gothick Revival, full of art and other treasures that were dispersed in a great auction in 1842. The original house at Osterley was...More

We hoped to visit the House after a perimeter walk but saw part of it only whilst seeing the (beautiful) exhibition - Made for the Table. It's about the evolution of silver tableware and dining conventions from 1600. The Goldsmith's Co silver collection is displayed...More

Only 3 rooms were available to visit. It was £19 for my husband and I to visit. All that was available was an exhibition of cutlery which we found very boring. We saw nothing else of the actual hall and apart from a poorly decorated...More

There was plenty of lovely tree colour when I visited last week. The gardens are being cleared for Winter but there are still amazing if you get a sunny day and are a Member.

We don't know this area but thought it interesting to have this spacious park bang-smack in central London. There were only a couple of rooms open in the house, showing a silver through the ages exhibition. Some of the old artefacts date back to the...More

My first visit to this National Trust property and I was surprised at just how good it was. Very good guides who showed you around the servants quarters.

You don't expect to find this well known house, set in lovely parkland down some back street in London, but this is exactly what you get here. The house has been used in film locations from time to time because it is so picturesque and...More

The website says £7 for parking but it might be best to phone them +442082325050 to be sure. Also, they might then clarify the website.

Not that far as planes can be seen flying overhead at a low height. Heathrow is nearby as the crow or plane flies. So by car it takes longer, but it is worth the journey, and wont take long.
