Fantastic muddy and wet walk!

We had a lovely day out with our dogs and two children. Even though it was raining, we decided to visit her to go for a walk. We discovered some of the hidden paths in the woods... read more

This is more of a walk than park as there are no large open spaces. There are tracks that run at the side of the river and there is a waterfall at the end. There is also a small lake with lots of ducks waiting to be fed. Overall it was ok - not stunning. There is a nice cafe... More

This was a peaceful place to walk but unfortunately since the advent of festivals, wedding venue etc held at the farm within the grounds it has lost its sparkle. During these times your visit is restricted, especially when the motor bikes were in the park for a festival. It was impossible and unsafe to walk particularly with children. It has... More

We had a lovely day out with our dogs and two children. Even though it was raining, we decided to visit her to go for a walk. We discovered some of the hidden paths in the woods and after walking on lots of muddy and steep paths, we discovered a fairy den! Our girls who are 9 and 4 absolutely... More

A lovely country park, great to have walks, see the madarin ducks, canada geese, cootes and assorted wildlife. A good idea to walk the full length to go to the other end to see the waterfall. Can be good to go on a weekend, to see the model boat club with their assorted boats, and indeed the amateur sailing club.... More

Wonderful walk along the river. Start from the car park and down to the wier and back is a beautiful spot. Lots of wildlife, and very accustomed to people - it's rare to see them staying where they are or even coming toward you (well used to being fed!) rather than rushing away. And I've never seen so many mandarin... More

Look in any direction and there is a beautiful landscape throughout this park that runs alongside the River Etherow. Its cafe is brilliant with highly motivated and helpful staff and our grandson loves coming here to feed the ducks, swans and geese.

Good walk around the lake with the kids followed by a nice brew and toasties then time to feed the ducks. Lots to do here and the kids loved climbing the trees etc.

Lovely large lakeside country park with a cafe and toilet facilities. Plenty of ducks and other water birds, food available from the cafe to feed them. A hide for birdwatching is situated in the park away from the busier areas.

It's your looking for a walk just out of the city with lots of wildlife and a feeling of really being out in the wilderness then this is it! I have been here a couple of times now and both times it's been great. I have seen multiple species of ducks such as mallard and mandarin but also seen geese... More

Great flat walks around the ponds/lakes with a great weir at one end - woods behind offer more challenging paths and lovely views.
