This white horse is easier to see from the road and surroundings than some of the others. Also has the monument to one side of it - although completely different in approach and age, the two different items seem to fit in well with their surroundings.

some good walks of various lengths and challenge in terms of gradients. Views at the top from above the white horse are worth the effort on a clear day

Interesting site but smaller than expected! viewed from the roadside so may be more spectacular up close.

The easterly one is steep at the upper section but gives lovely views once the height has been gained. The route up from the Devizes side... More

The white horse is well looked after and looks fantastic. it is a great walk with excellent views. The locals do a great job and should be congratulated. The "monument" which i believe to be in private ownership looks uncared for and,has been falling to bits for years. It is an eyesore and best ignored if you can. There is a... More

Great place to walk starting at car park about 1 mile from Avebury on the Calne road. You can do round walk to monument and back several ways. Lovely views we did it on a cold sunny frosty morning.
