Free with Hersheypark
Nov 2021 • Family
The zoo visit is free as park of your Hersheypark ticket - note, their hours differ from the park, so be sure to check ahead of time if you want to visit.
Your views of zoos overall will drive your experience here. From a variety and education standpoint, there is a fairly large variety in species for the size of the zoo and gives someone the opportunity to see and learn about animals from something other than a screen. From a habitat perspective, most of the enclosures are pretty small; the zoo overall doesn’t have a tremendous amount of space. I think they have done the best they could with what they have to work with.

Cute zoo, staff was very friendly and informative. We saw a lot of different animals and had a great experience. Highly recommend checking out if you are in the Hershey area.

Living spaces are too small
Oct 2021
The animals enclosures are extremely small, with very little additions to make them look like « home ». Several animals truly broke my heart. The ocelot is in such a small area…and sits there, staring into space while people are walking by and looking at him through the glass. His cage is maybe 20 feet long, with a few fake stones to sit on, in total darkness.
The black footed ferret is alone and his fur is in poor condition, he has almost nowhere to hide, no enrichment, no toys or anything to keep him interested.
The alligator is sitting in a very small pool of water and has no room either.
Owls, bald eagles, and other birds have enclosure with rusty fencing, and would be unable to truly fly if they tried.
It is a very depressing place, and I came out feeling extremely sad for the animals. Their entire life spent trapped, unable to truly live and know happiness.
Dreadful.

Nice little zoo add on for Hershey park. Actually got to see the animals (they weren’t hiding) and a nice variety of birds and cats.

Nice break from the park
Aug 2021
The zoo has very small enclosures for the animals. The information the provide is excellent. The suggested route is easily accessible even to those with mobility issues (myself).

Grandson love this
Aug 2021
We recently visited Hershey park for a 2 day package. We were able to see the zoo from inside the park. Small ,but great for small kids and families. A little bit of hot ,so some of the animals were hiding to avoid the heat. Grandson Myles who is 5 Yrs old loved it. Definitely would recommend

First Time

My favorite part was everything! Not knowing what to expect as I have never been here before the first thing you should know that if you have a purse, back pack or any type of bag, the search thru it. For seniors it is $11 a piece. The way the zoo is designed it makes for a relaxing and comfortable You get to see so many animals from Northland America. it takes about an hour to do, maybe longer if you want to linger longer.
