Teddy Roosevelt declared that this Italian Renaissance-style building was “the handsomest building I ever saw”. Indeed, the State Capitol, with its vaulted dome and grand staircase and the murals and painted floors inside, is thing to behold.

Small things are beautiful and this Penn State Capitol is one of the examples. Nearby parking, gorgeous views, and almost zero tourists. We really enjoy this visit. Be careful...it is completely closed late afternoon.

Beautiful building with amazing features. A must see if you are in Central PA. See spot where President Teddy Roosevelt stood to dedicate the building.

Walk the halls eat in the same cafe that lawmakers and staff eat. See art works from school thoughout PA. It's a beautiful place to meet your State Senior or House Representive. Also the Governor's Office.

This has a similar design as many US capitol buildings, but the architecture is very elegant and beautiful. They close at 6 pm, but this is not too clear on the website. Parking can be difficult downtown but is well worth a visit.
