We traveled here twice in last two years. Both visits were during the summer. We enjoyed the lake area, the kids had fun swimming in the water. One visit wasn't crowded and it was pretty quiet. Lots of wildlife around. We saw ducks, deer, snakes...More

Just did the 1 mile loop around Conservation Island which is part of the Promised Land State Park. We did 1 mile in one direction and then went the other way. Flat, but be careful of lots of roots and jutting rocks. View was great...More

I've been in the area for twenty years and have to kick myself for never going here. We went for a visit and this is such a gem. This is a throwback to when they built heritage sites. There are cabins to rent with stone...More

Spent Labor Day weekend tent camping and it must have been the coldest Labor Day ever. We had a great site, was near the restrooms, the facilities were great! Had hot showers, there certainly is a strong concern of bears here fortunately did not encounter...More

Early morning we saw an eagle having fish for breakfast. I saw the eagle swimming with its wings, as it had the fish in its talons and was going for a dead log in the water to eat. The nights were a little cool as...More

The kids loved the beach and swimming and a nice area on the side to take the dogs in the water. Picnic tables and grills were available. There was also a concession stand for ice cream.

Stayed down the road at High Country Cottages and spent a couple hours at the state park. It had great nature trails, a walking bridge over a small dam, and a swim area with boat rentals. The firehouse down the street has a great venue...More

There are some sites on the water edge near the beaches where you can launch your own kayaks etc.. Otherwise there are numerous launch areas. You can call the park directly for the campsites next to the water.
