So, Erie is a languishing rust belt town. But this art museum has thrived; it's a gem. The management has done a wonderful job renovating the facility and promoting the arts in all it's forms. There are installations in the main building, festivals in the park, film series, art classes, and more. Well done.

We went as something else to do while going to Presque Isle Casino. It is a very small museum in an unique building. The historical building has high ceilings and nice old exposed building materials. I would go back for free admission on Wednesdays, but wouldn't pay to go again. Take the trip to Cleveland if you want to see... More

I really like the newer atrium and entrance. I have visited the museum several times but this is the first time I used the new entrance. The museum had a good mix of modern works, works by local artists and items from their permanent collection.

This place has changed since my last visit (2010), but for the better. The museum in my town, Toledo Museum of Art, is enormous so it may be a bit unfair of a comparison or point of reference to judge this museum by. The Erie Art Museum has roughly 15 galleries (give or take). It does not take long at... More

Today, I visited this museum for the first time. I am ashamed that this is in my hometown and I had never visited. Our guide Kellie made this such a memorable visit with her extreme knowledge and her sheer passion for what is obvious enjoyment to all that listens. She has made me a fan....

I have had contact, joy, challenges, reprieve, knowledge and most of all, so many "aha!" moments over many years of visiting the Erie ARTS Museum. I have taken "one evening" classes as well as week long teacher Act 48 classes. There is so much vitality in the building.....Music on the Patio on Wednesdays offered for free during the lunch hour... More

The Spring Show & permanent collections featured some great local artists that we would never have seen if we hadn't come here: We all loved the Joseph Plavcan paintings. Overall, the works were very interesting and modern. We all got a kick out of the old building and my kids LOVED the Dark Garden! Oh, and you have to go... More

A great way to see Erie Art Museum is to go at noon on Wednesday. They have free outdoor concerts and admission to the museum. The museum has several great displays. You can buy a drink or lunch, listen to a good concert, and enjoy the art.

This was $9 well spent. We were there about an hour and a half. The art of comic book exhibit was my favorite. There were really interesting pieces there. A lot of local are which is cool. I was a little confused on the layout so make sure to grab a map. It wasn't busy so it felt like we... More
