Spent about 5 hours on the public observation field for the Perseids meteor show, watched moonrise then headed out. Saw a good number of "shooting stars" and the milky way for the first time in years. It was cold, for August, had fleece blankets and...More

First time stargazers and we had a great experience. Plenty of parking and room for blankets and chairs. We were able to hear the DCNR speaker as well and was very informative. Highly recommend!

It's an open field, so possibly not. Best bet for that would be Lyman Run State Park in Galeton, PA
