I went to see the Uninvited and the play was very good. However it was done by the community theater and they don't get paid, however each ticket costs $20. Granted, it wasn't a full house but I think if they lowered prices some more people would probably come and they could be making the same amount of money.

There are a lot of different activities that take place at the Capitol. Movies, Music, Festivals, but by far the best reason to go is for the Chambersburg Community Theatre's productions.

Love the plays here and this one didn't disappoint... A comedy that had me chuckling throughout.... the play was a huge success! I heard chuckling and laughter all around me. It was surprising to see so many empty seats on a Friday night... so much better for us I guess

I was able to get a ticket to see "The Scrooge" the Xmas play. They have renovated the theatre since my last visit. It is pretty nice inside now. They have a small concession stand inside. The set that they used was hand made from scratch. The actors were very good for a local play. The staff at the theatre... More

This is a hometown place but out-of-town visitors will find a wide variety of presentations and there are usually seats available. Check their webpage (http://www.thecapitoltheatre.org/index.html) to see what's happening or check at the front desk of your hotel or BnB. This local venue is popular and affordable. Events like Pop A Cork-music and wine, Blues, Brews & BBQ, special movie... More

Our second visit to the Capital. This is a lovingly restored theater in downtown Chambersburg, seating about 800. On our latest visit (7/22/15), the "Graystone Monarchs" performed. This is a 12 pc. band that plays authentic music from the 1920's and early 1930's. The Capital's acoustics are wonderful, mics were unnecessary. I don't think there's a bad seat in the... More

This place is so nice! They offer a wide variety of programs for the Chambersburg area, from affordable children's programs to live performances. They also offer a very nice venue to rent for events. If you ever have time go and see a performance - you won't regret it!

I took my mother to see the Glenn Miller Orchestra and felt like we went back in time! The architecture and ambiance is just as I remembered as a child. The snack bar serves the usual theater fare but at 1970's prices! With a variety of different live shows travelling through you're sure to find something you would enjoy. It's... More
