The Elk Country Visitor Center is a premier location for viewing elk and other wildlife in Pennsylvania. The center offers interactive exhibits and displays and encourages a 'hands on' experience. Our 4D story theater immerses guest in the history of Pennsylvania elk and the Pennsylvania Wilds. Our gift shop sell Made in the USA product, many of those by local artisans and product makers. The best time to view is early in the morning or in the hours before dark. Elk are wild animals and you can't be promised you will see them.

We were not expecting such a nice visitor center out in the middle of nowhere! This is such a good surprise. This is excellent for both children and adults - informative and educational. The facts and details presented were exceptional as were the exhibits. There are nice hiking paths to view the elk, clean restrooms, and a lovely gift shop.... More

Elk Country Visitor Center is an AWESOME destination for the entire family to enjoy! We had a total BLAST! We even saw LOTS of elk in people's front yards....close to the visitor center. I think folks must put yummies in their yard to attract the elk because the elk were so calm, grazing happily with very little concern! You'll just... More

There is a quite large parking lot in front of the Elk Country Visitor Center. The first thing I saw was a large statue of an elk, right in front of the entrance. There were some neat exhibitions inside the Visitor Center, but there was also lots of information while we walked on the path to see the elks and... More

check out the statue outside, and be sure to take in the movie inside the center. if the elk aren't out in the fields, head up the road a little further.

We were hoping to see elk and were not disappointed. There was a herd in the woods right by the parking lot. They just hung out for a while. The visitor center is nice and there are some paths to walk to possibly see the elk. Apparently the elk could just be walking the path with you as we did... More

Visited the Elk Country Visitor Center in November. Although the leaves were past their peak, it was beautiful on the way in and in the park area. The Center has many stuffed animals that were very interesting. Enjoyed the mountain lion and bob cat. Stuffed squirrels, fischer, stuffed elk, etc. The buffet in the next building was reasonably priced and... More

Wonderful building with nice exhibits kept kids' interest. Glad we saw the 30 minute show. Grounds are amazing - well worth the stop.

This is the perfect stop while visiting the area to view elk. They have a great deal of information on elk in general as well as where to find elk in the area to view. The movie that they offer is well worth the three dollars. It is in 4D and is very well made and informative. Almost every time... More

Visitor Center was interesting and very educational. Get there early or late for a better chance of seeing elk. We didn't see any on the monitors at the visitor center, but saw some by the side of the road after about 30 minutes of driving on back roads

Largest concentration of free elk in the East. Elk reintroduced in the early to mid 1900s. Now about 900. Whole area is banking on elk population for tourist dollars. Fine building and grounds. Best viewing of elk in late afternoon. Explore the exhibits earlier.
