The Sunshine Mill now houses Quenett and Copa Di Vino wineries owned and operated by James and Molli Martin, both from The Dalles. Quenett Winery released its first vintage in 2002 and burst onto the wine scene with its outstanding vintages of Sangiovese and Zinfandel. The word Quenett comes from the journals of Lewis and Clark, who camped along luscious and fruitful banks of the Columbia River and learned from the local Indians that the word Quenett meant "Steelhead."

The tasting room is located in the old Sunshine Mill and it really is interesting to see how the flour Mill has been refurbished and is now home to Copa Di Vino and Quenett Wineries. The tastings are very reasonable; 5 pours for $7. You...More

Love their use of all the flour mill mechanical parts. Loved the story of its history, sale and redevelopment into the winery. Sounds like lots of future plans. I look forward to returning. A definite stop if you are in this area.

My fiancé and I spent a weekend in The Dalles in early June just to get out of town (Portland). We were told we must visit Sunshine Mill Winery and we weren't disappointed. We each tasted 6 wines for a reasonable price of $15 and...More

Good wine, but the building is amazing and worth the visit. They do have small plates of food and an excellent cheese plate to go with the wine tasting. They have good AC when it is hot outside. How often do you get to go...More

It is beautiful location, dark, misteryous spot, full of mechanical wheels, belts, and devices, beautiful, aged furnute. The wine is wonderful, with more than decent selection. They would offer you membership if you are interested, make the price even more affordable. I liked the darkness,...More

The Sunshine Mill Winery tasting room is right in the mix of the old mill workings. Tons of cool old belt driven mechanical stuff. The wind are good too.

Stopped by this winery with another couple on our drive up to Walla Walla. Loved the historic flour mill building and all the antiques and mid-century modern furnishings inside the tasting area! Their cheese and charcuterie plates made a wonderful lunch to accompany our tastings....More

We stopped on way through The Dalles. We've always wanted to stop and see this winery. I'd seen many pictures of the inside with all the wonderful decorations and how they preserved a lot of the equipment from the old mill. Very nice grounds outside.
