We loved touring this house. The tour lasts about 45 minutes to an hour (which is significant since the house is pretty small), but our tour guide was so passionate and knowledgeable we all got caught up in her enthusiasm. Not great for kids, which is to be expected, but kid just sat on the couch and read a book... More

Enjoyed this excellent tour of a FLW home designed for a middle class family towards the end of his life. You are advised to make a reservation in advance; on a rainy Sunday we had no problem getting same day tickets, but tours do sell out at times.

I love Frank Lloyd Wright designed homes, and the Gordon House is no exception. Beautiful grounds (though not the original location) and a beautiful home. The docents are knowledgeable and friendly and it's a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

This is the only Frank Lloyd Wright house in the Northwest that is open for tours, the Gordon House in Silverton, is about an hour or so south of Portland. One of the few Frank Lloyd Wright houses that allows you full access, including upstairs. It is a fine example of Usonian architecture, and the story and video of the... More

You should be a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright to visit this house, otherwise it is just another house to tour. Interesting story about the house and how it was moved.

with in depth stories of the history and construction of this iconic house. The excellent tour guide began our visit with an extensive introduction followed by a detailed tour of all the rooms of the house. This was followed by a movie that told more about its relocation to the current spot. A must see for those interested in architecture.

Were the name of a famous architect not associated with this structure, it would hardly be worth visiting. Even at that, it still seems hardly worth visiting. This is, after all, a "cooker-cutter" design and in no way indicative of the architect's talents and achievements. For that you would have to visit Wisconsin, or Arizona, or -- best of all... More

Make sure you sign up for a tour. This isn't a place that you can just walk into and look around. We got lucky and a tour was starting when we got there. Had we not had the tour we would have been disappointed because you aren't able to go inside without it. The tour is worth the money and... More

If the architecture doesn't leave you in awe, nothing will. Our guide was fantastic and seemed to know every detail of the house and knew everything about Frank Lloyd Wright. This tour is worth every penny (they charge very little, just to maintain the house).

This was open by reservation only so I just strolled around and looked in the windows. It was ok. Having admired FLW homes through the years, this one is small but the usual efficient, modern design. Built with concrete blocks, it was interesting.
