I have a 12 yr old and 9 yr old girls who've never surfed before and Tony was great with them. Don't recommend doing this with a 9 yr old unless they are advanced and comfortable with the ocean, mine wasn't really ready. Note, the drive to short sands beach (from Seaside) where he teaches and the long walk to the beach take quite a bit of time and carrying many large boards can be fairly taxing...plan ahead and give yourself extra time. …
