Oregon Coast Day Trip: Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock

207 reviews
Explore the northern coast of Oregon with ease on a full-day tour from Portland. Look for whale sightings from Neahkahnie Point, then check out the shops or beach in Manzanita. Visit an old-growth forest, have time to purchase lunch and explore Cannon Beach, and walk around Haystack Rock and the beach that flanks it. Stop at a historical logging museum on the return drive to Portland.

I was concerned about the freshness of the taffy considering business slow down because of covid. I was pleasantly surprised! The price was better and the taffy fresher than the place around the corner on the Main Street. They keep a good rotation of the taffy because they use a tube to feed it down into bins rather than piling taffy on top of taffy. Great system.....

We were super excited to check this place out bc of their advertising over something like 150 or more flavors. This store was one of our main reasons for visiting the little town area. Unfortunately, we were immediately put-off before we even got inside the door! It’s inside a weird courtyard off the main drag that was kinda dirty. The store seems really cramped and they aren’t limiting capacity so it was packed. But the worst of it was how utterly filthy it was. The bins looked like they hadn’t been cleaned since who knows when, with bits of taffy and other unknown substances smeared and dust and open candies. Also, every piece we picked up to purchase was hard as a rock, so obviously not fresh. We got frustrated and gave up. It just wasn’t worth it bc there are so many other spots with clean bins and fresh taffy. Sad.

I placed an order online from the Seaside Candyman and I didn't receive the full order but I was charged for the full order! I tried several times to contact them regarding the missing items but was completely ignored by them. Beware if you plan on ordering online, as it isn't the best tasting taffy and surely not good enough to take the chance of being defrauded out of money for a product you NEVER receive!

I frequent the candy store in Seaside. I was lucky enough to be the next door neighbor of the owner at our vacation condo. He runs a great business and is a wonderful neighbor.

This was some of the worst taffy I've ever had. Flaky, hard, and when it did soften, way too sticky! Yeeeesh. Nice workers though and flavor is good.
