We were driving along Route 138, aware of a number of waterfalls on this route (Watson Falls, Toketee, etc). Most of these waterfalls require hiking, some of them a lot of hiking. We came across the sign for this waterfall east of Watson Falls, and decided to turn off the road. We were NOT disappointed! Not far off 138 at all, maybe 0.2 miles. Very short hike to the waterfall. It is well worth it! Very few people in the vicinity. Nice views of the creek and you can cross it over a small bridge. SO accessible and so enjoyable.…

Even though this is a small waterfall in height, I love that it goes in and out of the lava. It reminds me of something you'd see in Hawaii. Its a very short, level walk from the parking lot to the viewing platform. Because the Clearwater River is spring fed, the falls are always at the same level. Hence, the moss along the riverbanks grows thick due to the fixed water level. This time of year is thick with mosquitos.…

We have a business in Oregon and family it CA so we pass by this area several times a year and stop the frequently. There is also a small (5 sites) campground. Google it for more info.
