My 11 year old granddaughter ranked this is one of her favorite places in Oregon (behind the dune buggy ride at Oregon Dunes National Rec Area). The climb looked to be steep enough that I opted out, but the kids and my husband made it and said it was awesome!! I could see the top of the falls from the parking lot. This was the most crowded of all of the places we stopped at in Oregon--early Friday afternoon.

Nice waterfall visit along the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway. There are a lot of waterfalls and places to stop along the way. This is the 3rd highest waterfall in Oregon and the highest in southern Oregon so worth a look. Park at the Watson Falls picnic area and then walk up the stairs to the road -- cross the road and then the trail begins. At the bottom you have green, moss-covered boulders with water rushing down and around them. Look up and you will see the main waterfall above. If you are pressed for time (lots to see on this byway!) go up to the footbridge that allows you to walk over boulders with rushing water, it's a lot of fun. nice waterfall and worth a visit.

Not an easy access for some, but worth the effort. There is a first viewing area but you can keep going to get closer - great photo place.

This hike was amazing, very accessible hike. You start off from the parking lot and have to cross the highway to access the actual hike. The hike its self was spectacular! If you are adventures and like to get to the bottom of the hike, you have that ability to get down the fall!

A helpful individual answering the phone at Lithia Park (Ashland) told us Watson Falls was his favorite waterfall in the region. So we skipped Rogue River Gorge Falls & Toketee and headed to Watson. It was a Monday, and there were only a handful of visitors. We shared conversations and took one another's photos. Unless you have serious knee or foot issues, you should be able to make the ascent. Most folks stayed 5 minutes at the end, but we sat on a bench ... ... and savored the views.
