Oak woodlands and white tails
Apr 2017 • Family
This former ranch is managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management for the benefit of Columbian white-tailed deer. Lots of trails for hking and horseback riding.

This are is open for hunting (during the season with appropriate tags from ODFW) for deer and turkey.

It is adjacent to the North Umpqua River and provides good vies of the river and the oak savannahs on the rolling hills.

About 20 minutes from Roseburg, it is a great placce to go in the spring, or the fall.

Great hikes on beautiful savannah hills
Apr 2017 • Couples
North Bank Habitat Management Area is a former 6000 acre ranch, donated to the BLM, which now manages it. There are many trails all of which are accessed by two trailheads. It is located on the North Umpqua with beautiful views onto the river and far beyond. We hiked a loop that was about 5 miles, having lunch at a trail junction complete with picnic table. Longer hike options are available. We were thrilled with the beauty of the oak and madrone interspersed with grass covered hillsides offering amazing views.
