The Sapphire continues to be a reliable great little late night stop. It is a remnant of old Portland and it holds up! The menu is entertaining and delightful and the service is good. Great drinks and fun food options. It's nice to stop in...More

My husband and I have eyed the Sapphire Hotel (a restaurant and bar) for some years, but only just tried it--dropping in on a crowded Saturday night, sans reservations, finding only two seats at the bar. But the bartender and wait staff were great (even...More

The Sapphire is a great spot with interesting décor, fantastic cocktails, friendly staff, and tasty food. Good for an afternoon stop or late night drink (and everything in-between). Nice date spot as well, romantic vibe and proper libations, especially late evening hours. Interesting history on...More

Yummy stop after The Barefoot Sage. Drinks and appetizers in a sunny window was the perfect compliment to a Sunday with girlfriends. The French Rosé bubbles was a perfect drink. The bacon wrapped almond stuffed dates along with the artichoke and arugula dip with warm...More

Came here on our final night in Portland. We were drawn by the multitude of options for cocktails but were blown away by the beet burger and farmers board- where you can choose your cheeses and protein. We went with a brie, a sheep milk,...More

The Sapphire Hotel has a pretty seedy history on the southeast side of Portland. Nothing seedy about the bar, though. This bar is a wonderful, old-time elegant (yet unaffected) place to be seen while imbibing the most imaginative cocktails and nibbling on a fine variety...More

Actually Hawthorne continues – the bend takes you onto SE 50th – so you might miss this little gem. Great cocktails and starters crafted with quality ingredients and served by friendly and attentive staff. We'll be back.
