Climb aboard and forget the problems of Portland streets and limited/expensive parking. The trains are clean as are the stations and frequent. Both regular stations and transfer stations are well marked as are the trains themselves. Rates are minimal and the all day passes are a bargain.($2.50 all day for "honored citizens "seniors")

Great way to get around yet not deal with the traffic and parking costs. They run about every 15 min. so you just go to the station.

Fast, efficient, clean, safe, cost is negligible, they're everywhere you look. Buying a ticket at a kiosk is quick with a credit card. Way more trains than you'd expect. As a senior it cost me $2.50 for an all day pass on any Tri-Met vehicle. Max is very well-run.

If you are an honored citizen it only costs $7.50 for a five-day pass. You can take the MAX from the airport to downtown for only $2.50. It is a great way to transport yourself.

Used MAX in combination with street cars to get all around Portland for the cost of a $ daily transit pass.

I am a teacher in Clackamas County. The MAX train was a huge blessing when needing transportation for a field trip into downtown Portland. You can contact Trimet and arrange for a field trip pass. This will cover one day (9:00-3:00) for just $1 per rider. This is a great deal and made transportation a breeze for my students and... More

We used the Metro to travel between our hotel in downtown Portland and the airport, and between our hotel and the Veterans Memorial Coliseum...we made better time than our friends using a car!

Orenco station was my base and i loved how easy it was to access! Wish they had more maps of the stops though within the train.

Very easy to use after a few rides. Great for airport/downtown (red line) access. Parking is at a premium in downtown Portland so MAX offers access to a lot of things without a car. Fares are reasonable but just be sure you have a valid ticket. Full of commuters on weekdays and fans on game nights. Probably one of the... More

Been on the Dart, the Bart, the CTA, the Metro, the tube and whatever they call the light rail in Prague. This one is the best. The cars themselves are easy to get into and out of. They are comfortable with luggage, a bicycle or a stroller. The ride is smooth, the trip to the airport can be faster than... More
