Had a couple of opportunities to try Portland's mass transit. Aside from a couple of less fortunate pna handlers on the train, which seems par for the course these days, the trains were clean, quiet and timely. Congrats Portland for being so far ahead of...More

Taking MAX to and from the airport was easy and affordable. Connections to the street car lines are close to Pioneer Square. We also used MAX to travel to Washington Park. The underground station and diagrams of the depth of the line are impressive.

We love the convenience of taking the MAX when in Portland. Easy to get around, excellent value and wish more cities made travelling around so convenient. The staff at the airport is very helpful.

We rode all over town to several different areas of the city for $1.25 for a senior citizen ticket. They call us Honored Citizens on the ticket kiosk!

The MAX is a great way to get around, both Downtown and on the outskirts or Portland. Very reliable and frequent service every day of the week and until very late. Using the new Hopcard makes this service even easier.

For newcomers, this system is very easy to use. Just buy a timed ticket (hours, day, or days) and ride anywhere. Also very clean and fast.

No problems on the MAX. We would use it again if we were ever back in Portland. So much more efficient than what we are use to in D.C.

I used to be a big fan of the MAX, but my opinion has changed. As a senior you can ride it all day for $2.50 which is a bargain. Connection between different lines is easy. My problem is that it has become primary ‘free’...More

If you fly into PDX you will be delighted with MAX. You can hop on MAX and go DT then NSEW from there. It is like any European city transportation. Get a ticket from the machine and go. Then there's the trolley system for inner...More

Great way to get around the Portland area. Runs right through the middle of town and into the suburbs. Use one ticket for MAX and bus to get around. Timely and easy to navigate. Very cost effective.

If you can, do rent a car to visit the gorge area. There are so many waterfalls to see, places to hike (short to long, easy to difficult), and views to enjoy.

I don't believe so. This is a city / suburban service. Eugene is almost 2hours south of Portland on I5.
