(Can't find a place where you can review a city overall so this will have to do) Was really looking forward to visiting Portland but left with very mixed emotions. Sort of a parallel universe in a way. The number of homeless, many of them...More

Portland City Hall is a very distinctive looking four-story Italian Renaissance-style building built in 1895. It has a sandstone exterior and takes up a full city block. And it has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1974. There are landscaped grounds around...More

City Hall is underappreciated, a vintage gem in downtown Portland. It was (or is?) to be torn down, but now the plan is to wreck the VQ with a big new building on the river. Still, City Hall is worth a quiet 5 minute walk...More

We loved walking by the City Hall and it was just like we saw it in Portlandia with the herb garden on the front. Sweet.

The rounded front of City Hall brings in the tourists....and the protestors! It's a spectaculor look for a government building!

City Hall is one of the prettiest in the US. It is so gratifying to see the old buildings kept in good repair and still used for the purpose for which they were originally built!
