Saw Seu Jorge perform on his Life Aquatic Sessions tour. The hall is magnificent. It is beautifully restored/maintained and gives you a sense of the grandeur of what it was like when it was THE place to go for entertainment.

Steep main floor and balconies keep you close to the stage no matter the seat. The last of the old iconic theaters on Portland's Broadway, its a great venue to catch a show. Consider dinner at the Heathman before or drinks after for a great night out.

Though 'the Schnitz' was originally built as a movie palace its acoustics, especially from the balcony, make it an ideal venue for symphony concerts. Most satisfactory, all in all.

It is my first visit to Portland and enjoying the theater was at the top of my list. I attended Beauty and The Beast, Symphony Concert and Dancing with The Stars during my week here. All performances were incredible. The theater is beautiful and efficient. I highly recommend a visit during your stay in Portland.

I've attended concerts, lectures, and conferences here. The sound is fine, the decor is lovely, the seats comfortable, the leg room not so great. Sit with both feet on the floor and you will be fine. Don't look down toward the stage if you are in the upper balcony, it looks unnervingly steep. That said, I live here, I sometimes... More

Ok, the tickets were free; a friend got me in to hear the symphony last week. We sat in the top row of the lower balcony which is just one aisle down from the bottom row of the upper balcony. I've had orchestra seats here before, so i can now say from experience, not a bad seat in the house.

The acoustics are really good and not really any bad seats, of course that depends on the stage set up sometimes. The Rococo decor is wonderful; it is a restored 1930’s gem. We have enjoyed many entertaining shows at this location. The Oregon symphony and Pops play beautiful, fun and entertaining music. The Christmas events are a tradition.
