The tour is currently seasonally closed. The first tour of 2017 will be on Friday, May 5th at 11am.

From May 5th until November 1st, 2017, there will be a Free Tour of Portland every single day of the week at 11am.

For a full schedule of the 2017 tour season, please see the "Tour Calendar" page of our official website.

Think of this tour as stand up comedy about Portland's weird and wacky history and culture. Sure to have you laughing the whole way through, this is without question the most entertaining walking tour in town! Come find out why local comedian Erik Kennon's Free Walking Tour is so much more fun than one that costs $20 up front!

The Free Tour starts everyday at 11am on the sidewalk of SW 6th Ave in front of Pioneer Courthouse (across the street from Pioneer Square and the Visitor Information Center.) No reservation necessary! Just show up! The tour meets 7 days a week, rain or shine :-) Look for Erik, who will be wearing his signature neon green "Free Tour" t-shirt. The tour is about 2 to 2.5 hrs long and ends in front of Voodoo Donuts, Chinatown, and the Saturday Market. You'll receive insider tips on restaurants and nightlife, and lots of photo ops! Your guide works for tips- you can be assured of the highest quality!

When researching things to do came across this tour. Reviews were great so decided to give it a try. It is about 2-21/2 tour but covers only about a mile with frequent stops. Great info about some interesting history of the city including a couple things even locals may not know about. Very relaxed and easy walk. Bring your camera... More

We so greatly enjoyed our walk with Erik! We learned so much and laughed at his jokes, saw things we would have never noticed otherwise and got a good sense of the unique flavor that this city has to offer. This tour is not to be missed and I'd even recommend to locals: I promise you'll learn something new! Thanks,... More

We did this on the last day of our vacation. And places which we had just blithely walked past came into focus and was brought to life by Eric who is wonderfully informative and hilarious. He makes his living on tips so do make sure to leave him something.

I've lived in the Portland metro area for almost two decades and decided to be a tourist today and do Erik's free walking tour of Portland. What a fantastic way to rediscover a place I thought I knew inside and out. I highly recommend the tour. Erik is funny and highly knowledgable in both the history of Portland's founding and... More

From start to finish, Eric kept us all entertained and informed while pointing out historical & current interesting facts about Portland. Even our teenagers (who get easily bored) were captivated during the entire tour. Would definitely recommend!

We took the tour with Eric at 11 AM, from Pioneer Courthouse Square. The tour was 2 and a half hours, and it was so good we didn't feel the time went by. Eric is awesome, really funny and Informative, gives you little anecdotes which makes the trip to Portland totally different from what it would have been. I fully... More

My 8 year old daughter and I went on this tour and OMG Eric is so awesome and hilarious! He kept us interested the entire time. I was worried about my little one doing the walk but she loved it and wanted to keep going! We learned so much about Portland. This was our first ever "walking tour" so I... More

I recommend that you take this tour on the first day of your visit to "Stumptown" (Portland which could have been called Boston but for the toss of a penny, which you can see in the history museum). Take the tour and discover why the locals call it Stumptown. For well over two hours Eric guides you through the city... More
