Our expert local guides will take you past the modern identity of Portland back to a more dangerous era, where murders, kidnappings, and organized crime could be found behind most of the elegant storefronts of the city. Listen to stories taken straight out of the true history of the last 150 years, and watch for yourself as the spirits of the past can still be seen today.

We visited Portland in Sept 2020 during Covid and it was still a nice visit. We purchased teas, candles and herbs from some of the vendors. There’s lots of food and local merchants and it wasn’t too crowded. Perfect for all types of travelers and it’s a pretty setting overall with the trees everywhere. It was held on the Portland campus.

The Saturday market is always a must when we visit esp for local artisans and food. The waterfront scenery is beautiful and other parts of the city can be strolled. Great way to start a weekend.

A nice site along the river walk. Some interesting and unique crafts are available here. Very nice vendors who spent time with us and it all was very fun.

This market focuses on people who make their own products like soap, jewelry, art, instruments, food and so on. It’s a great place to take friends and family that are visiting Portland to shop and get a good view of the city. It’s located right on the waterfront which is also nice to walk along.

The Portland Saturday Market is a great place to walk around and it if you find an interesting shop, to buy something. Shop ranges from food items (both vege, perhaps vegan - not sure, to meat based). My wife with assistance from our niece bought several pairs of earrings. There are photographic stalls, woodworking and other artists. Shops are highly individualized. It is good to be a dog lover as Portlanders bring them everywhere, include Saturday Market. Just be carefully when eating - you may accidentally feed a pampered pooch. And though called the Saturday Market, we visited mid week in December. not sure when it is open the rest of the year.
