My mother, husband, and I visited the rose garden during an insane heat wave in Portland. It was very crowded on a Wednesday in August. I had read online that parking would be difficult due to number of visitors and construction in the parking lots,...More

I have visited Rose Garden in December. I wish I had come in spring to see the roses. Winter time it is difficult to see all range roses that are bloomed. Nevertheless the garden amazing and be sure the view will enamor of you!

We drove our own vehicle to the Rose Garden, which was a mistake - mid-afternoon traffic in and around the garden was a challenge. We finally happened upon a parking spot, but I would encourage you to check traffic first and perhaps use public transportation...More

When you're in the city of roses...best you go see them! The garden itself is laid out very methodically- rectangular beds on different levels. This means it's difficult to get pics of great vistas of roses in any kind of artistic way, and the only...More

The International Rose Test Garden is a special spot to explore in Portland on a nice day. The garden offers a wide variety of flowers and also demonstrates why Portland is often called the Rose City.

Terraced on the hills overlooking Portland are the rose gardens. Timing is everything. Email the gardens to discover when the roses are in bloom.

Never know Portland was the “City of Roses”. Love roses and had to see a garden that is dedicated to this beautiful flower. Even though it’s November and no roses were in bloom, I would bet this place would be beautiful. It is well kept...More

I was unprepared for the abundance of color in October. Thanks to the many volunteers who deadhead the bushes all season long, the garden was in full bloom. In the light mist, the buds and blooms were all the more stunning. Even the rain did...More

The gardens are lovely, but we were out of season. Will be back when everything is blooming - But it was a great, quiet spot to do some walking.

I seriously doubt it! We just have Lilacs that are blooming and rododendrums, and our nights are somewhere between 39-41 degrees! We've had a long, colder winter here. 🌹

Yes, you will see good bloom in September. There is bus service to Washington Park, also you can take BIG PINK. It is a hop on hop off open air tour bus that stops at the garden as well.
