The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is a nationally-renowned science center providing science learning to a range of audiences. Our programming is guided by OMSI’s long-term vision to promote a healthy, innovative, and sustainable society where everyone is prepared to participate in civic life. OMSI’s science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programming helps visitors and program participants master 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration. We achieve this vision through exhibits, classes, camps, traveling educators, and adult programs around the state, making OMSI a trusted educational resource to all Oregonians.

Caveat: Like most museums they have rotating exhibits, so I cannot promise what I saw you will see when you go. One thing that is a permanent part of the museum is the USS Blueback, a retired Vietnam-era US Navy submarine. They take you on...More

My sister and her husband were in town from Hawaii and this was her husband's first trip here. Unfortunately we picked a day that schools were out so it was crowded but it sure was fun to watch all the kids taking part in different...More

We spent most of the day there and forgot about the rest of the museum because it was very educational and interesting. I love the way they projected audio to specific areas with short clips.

A great museum to see. The touring exhibit we saw was Pompeii. There is an I-Max theater with a choice of several films during the day. A bit difficult to get to, and well worth it.

There were real Pompeii artifacts, including two life-size marble statues, one of which is Emperor Caligula. Loved the Gorgon mosaic, fescos, gladiator shin guards and helmet. There were casts of dead bodies that captured the instantaneous effect of the fatal moment. Several videos explained architecture,...More

Visited on a Saturday with my 18 year old who generally looks best science museums. Of the many we have visited there's always been a nice balance for all ages. Not here. The only real thing of interest is a special exhibit on Pompeii but...More
