I could live here. When we heard the customer service person tell a customer the book they were seeking was on aisle 921, I was ready to pitch a tent and move in. New, used, rare, obscure...they have it all. And a coffee shop and Espresso Printing machine as well. A MUST visit if you are a bookworm.

Go to Powell's a few times a year. Large, funky, independent book store. Great place to hang out, read and drink your beverage of choice. Sells new and used books. Also sponsors guest speakers on literature and political topics. Parking is sometimes difficult. Parking garage only accommodates small cars. Worth a visit and plan to spend at least 1 hour... More

Powell's has so many books they go from floor to ceiling and are well organized and you will see books you never thought existed. I loved the travel section. You could spend a whole day inside that store.

This might be my favorite bookstore ever. Wide range of new and used titles. Not a lot of bargains here, but the selection is incredible, including some harder to find categories like plays, poetry and small press gems.

Went with no particular book in mind but left with several. The store is organized by color and the staff were most helpful. Get a map as you enter as you are going to need it! Plan on hours and they have their own parking garage but it was full so fed the meters a couple of times.

This bookstore is HUGE, with books for all interests. The coffee shop inside is pretty good too. This reminds me of Half Priced Books in how the shelves are set up and the overall look and feel. Clearly Powell's is on a much grander scale, but it's along the same idea. I really loved all of the little gift items... More

Powell's bookstore is amazing. It's huge and encompasses both new and used books of every description. Give yourself lots of time to browse.

Got so excited to explore this giant color coded building, I almost put more in my bag than I could take home on the plane. So many books, so many subjects, it is hard to just drop in quickly and browse. A clear plan is needed here. Lots of ways to find information, but I do wish it was easier... More

Powells is an amazing place that one can get lost in. The hardest part of it is not losing track of time. So wish there was a Powells in every city!
