This is a FANTASTIC park and a perfect place for a tourist(or native!) to spend the day. We saw the Rose Garden and the Japanese Garden, and passed by the zoo. The Holocaust Memorial was closed. Some of Portland's premier attractions are here. The park is on a large hill, so the terrain is full of rises and falls, lot of climbing and descending! The park itself is free, and so are the rose gardens. Definitely MUST go here, very memorable!…

This was a very nice area, with some great trails. This isn't a deep in the woods type of area and at times you can hear traffic surrounding, that's the only bad part. Chose a shorter hike at Washington Park today. Went from the Rose Garden to the Vietnam Memorial and back. Fairly easy and lots of shade. Beautiful walk.

Visitors were friendly and there were plenty of dogs on leashes. Lots of walking trails both paved and unpaved. Highly recommended despite restrooms being closed and only open seasonally with no mention of what dates constitute seasonally!…

We hiked around the park with a friend from out of town. The park is beautiful and a safe place for a hike. You can walk for 30 minutes or many many hours depending on the route(s) you choose. A variety of habitats from woodlands to more open meadows attract a variety of birds. Early morning is best for bird watching. Always a good place to get some exercise.…
