Basically, this is a bunch of junk collected in some basements that date back to the day. It's not even certain that folks lived in these or the city just made it all up for a tourist buck. Guides were stuffy, impolite to the guests and this would get a zero if I could give one. Look for better underground... More

I have been to Pendleton many times and finally did the Underground Tour. My husband and I really enjoyed it. We had an excellent tour guide who told us all the history of the buildings and the businesses within. It takes an hour and a half to go through everything. Well worth the entrance fee. I highly recommend.

This tour covers it all--the good, the bad and the ugly. Covers most of the past 100 years history of Pendleton. Great guides, knowledgeable and funny. Well worth the $15 and certainly a memorable experience

Went to the underground tour in Pendleton with another couple for a day long Pendleton adventure. We visited the Wildhorse Casino and then the Underground tour followed by dinner at Hamley's Steakhouse. Pendleton Underground Tours ( P.U.T.) is a non-profit corporation that started in 1989, giving tours of Pendleton’s red light district. The tour was very controversial because part of... More

Brooke, Working Girls, the crew, etc., have done so much to bring alive this and keep it going. I am so glad this history wasn't lost to modernization!

Super informative. Be warned, this isn't a ball of excitement so kids may be bored but if you like local history this is great fun. It is as good or better than Seattle underground and there is a lot more involved than just a dusty basements.

We took the Pendleton underground city tour and it was fascinating! Our tour guide was FABULOUS, sharing bits of interesting information about the circumstances, history, and individuals that made the Underground their home, as well as the brothels, the 'Speak Easy' during prohibition and the secret passageways to avoid detection, opium dens, Chinese quarters and businesses and even their jail.... This was so interesting and such a well done tour. I would suggest to anyone to make this tour. Bet many kids would find it fun and would enjoy this as well. What a bargin for 15 bucks. Shannon did our tour and she did a great job but I bet they all do well. Very friendly staff! Thank you... More

I was able to learn so much about Pendleton's history! The red lights district truly has a colorful background, including prostitution, prohibition, gambling, China workers, and opium dens. This place is definitely why you come to Pendleton.

I learned so much... great tour, fantastic docent (her enthusiasm shined throughout). I was saddened by certain aspects- the Chinese in particular were treated SO horribly! The working girls were also taken advantage of - but realize choices were quite limited back in the day. Well worth the time & small admission fee- please tip those that share their passion... More
