If you are a fan of covered bridges, this one is pretty easy to get to. When driving state route 20 between Newport and Philomath/Corvallis, take the Crystal Creek Loop, a loop road about six miles long, which will take you right past the bridge....More

Very well maintained. Their simplicity is also their strenght. Very relaxing go around and read some information panels.

The facility is undergoing lots of changes with new construction occurring and is open for business as usual as the new building is going up.

We're surprised the Chitwood Covered Bridge, near Newport, hasn't been reviewed... or even _listed_ by TripAdvisor. The covered bridges of Oregon rank really highly in the list of reasons we've driven south from Vancouver, to experience the state's unique architecture, history, natural resources and coastline....More
