Glad we made the trip - great views and hiking trail to get to the lighthouse. The OR coast trip turned into a lighthouse tour after visiting here.

We stopped by during our most recent visit to Newport. Unfortunately, they're not presently giving tours due to Covid. (We greatly enjoyed the guided tour on our first visit to Newport in 2012.) Still, worth stopping and visiting the memorial.

The park is wonderful.
I still am not certain what the tall tower near it is.
There are many places to picnic in the park, lots of hiking/walking trails. Take you time and enjoy the sights, then when you get hungry head down to Bay street and grab some fresh seafood.

We love lighthouses. We try and visit as many as we can when vacationing along the coast. We stopped to see Yaguina Bay lighthouse. It is a sad little lighthouse - probably the worst we've ever seen. It definitely needs some TLC. We weren't able to go inside due to Covid restrictions. The Heceta Head and Yaguina head lighthouses are so much better. The good news - it's free to go look at it.

I was looking at the reviews & pictures & it seems some reviewers are confused as to which lighthouse they're reviewing. This lighthouse is IN Newport & has a nice view of the Yaquina Bay Bridge. It's well signed & has a generous parking lot.

We were there very early in the morning & nothing was open. It looked like there might be an interpretive center. I took a photo from the sidewalk.
There's also information boards around & a really nice view of the bay.

Love this lighthouse! $7 to get in, and they steer you to the first parking lot, with the visitor center. There is a second lot, down below, closer to the lighthouse. It could fill up, but there were plenty of spots when we were there... midday. Definitely worth the walk down the stairs to the beach, with all of the rocks. Very unique, great views of the lighthouse, and we were fortunate to also see the natives: pelicans to sea lions.

It was closed because of covid, but would have loved to explored the inside, and climbed the tower too.

The lighthouse is beautiful especially with the rennovations and the waves crashing on the rocks below.

We stopped by Yaquina Bay Lighthouse today on our drive from Depoe Bay to Newport. There is an entrance fee of $7 to enter the area and although you can go to the base of the lighthouse, there are no tours at this time. The area is quite beautiful and even though it was cold, rainy and windy, we walked along the well maintained walkways to the base of the lighthouse. Worth the admission especially if you enjoy lighthouses as I do.

Always loved coming here and touring the historic lighthouse. This visit it was all boarded up. Very disappointing.
The trails out to the beach were very well kept and didn't take nearly as long to get out there as it looked like it would. It was windy though so we didn't stay long.
