Teen Music Theater of Oregon

These shows NEVER disappoint. High energy, great voices and acting, and dancing that rivals Broadway shows, I thoroughly enjoy the productions.

Great Youth Theater Program
Jul 2018 • Family
If you are lucky enough to be in Medford when the Teen Musical Theater of Oregon is doing their performances, buy tickets! I took my grandkids to the Aladdin Jr. performance and it was a wonderful, fun, lively performance. All kids, song and dance done really well. The theater itself is a very good venue, no bad seats and good sound.

No bad seats!
Aug 2017 • Friends
This is a beautifully done smaller than you that no matter where you were seated you will have a great view of the stage and have no problem hearing whatever performance you are attending.

This redone theater from the early 20th century is a wonderful piece of Medford culture and a really nice venue for any show.

The highlight of Medford culture and concerts
Dec 2017
With Shakespeare in Ashland and Concerts in Jacksonville, it's tough to compete for culture. But the series of concerts/musicals/plays/shows at the Craterian are stellar year after year. We don't go to everything there, but there are always some great things to see there. There are no bad seats, everything is close to the stage and the sound and lighting are excellent.

Great entertainment live shows.
Apr 2017 • Couples
The live shows cover so many venues that are interesting and entertaining. The seats are comfortable and an elevator is available for those that can not climb stairs or do long walks.

Not a bad seat in the house
May 2017 • Couples
We haven't been for quite some time. Both times have been music venues. Really great experience. We went to "Legends of the road" honoring the music of Eric Clapton. They were Really good... all southern oregon musicians. Matt Terreri on drums just nailed it !!!!! Jennifer DePuglia....oh my gosh...the girls got the pipes.. Everyone did an outstanding job. They mentioned maybe doing a Joe Cocker tribute....deal me in. I would enjoy a return visit to see them perform again. Thanks Craterian.

Two of the most uncomfortable seats...
Mar 2017 • Family
We went to hear Lyle Lovett. Our seat placement was fine: We had a clear view of the stage and could hear quite well but our seats. Oh my gosh! We were seated in chairs ($75/ticket) in the handicap area. We are not handicapped but they were trying to sell as many spots as possible. Simply put, Our chairs cut off the circulation in our legs: my right leg turned tingly and I had all the symptoms of sciatica. My partner's feet went to sleep. We were so uncomfortable that we left this world-class performer before his show was over. When I spoke to a Craterian employee right outside the door as we escaped she giggled. That's it! Very frustrating.

A gorgeous theater with fantastic programs!!
Mar 2017 • Couples
Oh how I wish that the Rogue Valley knew how lucky they are to have a theater like the Craterian in their area!! This historic theater is such a gem - It sits so beautifully in the heart of this little downtown. I love the marquis out front, and the plaza that sits next to it. It truly feels like you're walking into a Broadway theater... but with a WAY bigger and better lobby!!!
This is the perfect spot for a night out. Dine at one of the many restaurants in walking distance of the theater, see a great show, and then head over to one of the late-night spots for a drink!
As far as seating goes, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. While of course, the orchestra seating is best, I've also enjoyed sitting in the very back row of the theater and in the balcony as well. It's the perfect size... nothing is too far away. So don't worry too much about picking your seats. They also have a great concession stand so you can come hungry if you want. You can even bring the wine and beer into the house if you purchase their lidded cup. Gotta love an intermission glass of red wine!

What I love most about this theater is that it features so many different programs. The Craterian always has an awesome season - bringing in touring musicals, celebrities, comedians, musical ensembles, and so much more. They also house an amazing program called Teen Music Theater of Oregon. I've seen teen programs like this all over the country and TMTO is truly one of the top musical theater programs in the country. When you see one of their shows, it's like seeing a professional production!!

Hey Medford! There aren't that many good date night options in this town unless you frequent the movie theater and like jumping at SkyZone. The Craterian is ABSOLUTELY your best bet for a great night out!!!!!
