SKIP LINCOLN CITY DURING SUMMER MONTHS
Jun 2021 • Family
I've mentioned in early reviews to NEVER stay down here in Lincoln City during the summer months. I should have listened to my own review. What a horrible experience while staying here. The town is overcrowded and traffic is a complete nightmare. We came down specifically for a family event, and wished we hadn't. Restaurants, stores, businesses, beaches, and basically everything is overcrowded to a tipping point. People are incredibly rude and have zero patience. Even the locals I spoke with hate it when people come into town. In fact I was told on several occasions to not come back?? We felt very unwelcomed while staying here. We normally stay between February and no later than the third week of May. We've stayed during all other times, but this duration is the best. AVOID any other time if you can..... we will not be back until next year.

It's too bad we didn't discover this area until the last day of our vacation
Mar 2021
This is an extremely cool beach, bordering the north shore of Siletz Bay. There is a MASSIVE amount of driftwood along the upper beach, including huge tree trunks.

Because the beach borders the bay instead of the ocean, it is protected from waves and makes this a much safer place, especially for people with small children.

There is a large parking area, public restrooms, and a long beach to explore. While we were there we saw people crabbing from shore, a group of teenagers playing frisbee, couples young and old enjoying the day, and families with small kids playing along the water's edge.

One thing I saw that was particularly cool was watching the outgoing tide from the bay flow into the sea. When the tide is ebbing, you really don't want to be in that channel!

We will definitely go back.

Our Go-To Beach in Lincoln City
Dec 2020
This lovely little beach is worth a look. Lots of "fiddly-bits" to find at low tide if you like looking for shells and agates. Sea lions sunbathe across the reach (and occasionally come over for a closer look at us humans). There's Mo's if you want lunch, and a wonderful arcade/ice cream shop across the street for sweet treats. The street leading to the beach is lined with places to stay, and shopping/groceries are a short walk away for convenience. There's not a lot of parking, but it's worth the trouble of waiting for a spot.

Taft Bay area provides easy access to sandy beach and ocean.

Lincoln City, OR is a great place to visit and stay as easy drive to other coastal cities to the north and south. Adequate restaurants in LC as well as Depoe Bay, Newport, etc. Even with take-out being our only way to eat personally with the Covid19 situation.

Great visit
Jul 2020
One of our favorite places to visit. Beautiful. The day we visited it was quite sparse with people. Just a beautiful break from the hustle and bustle.

Easy walk with lots to see
Mar 2020
We live near Taft Bay and walk it often. It is a dog friendly beach so our dogs love the adventure and meet lots of "friends" along the way. The driftwood is plentiful, especially after a storm. Huge trees come ashore that provide a good resting bench or a back rest for a longer sit. As the tide ebbs, treasures are easy to find: bits of glass, aggots, bits of lave, interest and beautiful rocks. The current is swift so it is not a great place to swim. Wading is best up by Mo's Restaurant --a wonderful place to eat! Parking is usually at a premium as it is a popular place.

Stormy beach day

Didn’t find any glass floats but this is a nice little stretch of beach with grassy dunes. Found a great white sharks tooth on the beach.

A collection of food, shops, beach and events all at 1 location. Mo’s restaurant, ice cream shop, and access to beach driftwood, a great one stop location. You can watch wild life, seals, birds from a renovated dock.

Pretty view. Not sure what else to say. You can park here and get a good photo. Fog was coming in when we visited.
