Rode the tramway to Mt Howard and walked the nature trails at the top. Fantastic views of the Wallowas and also out onto the plains. Very windy and cold though, so take a jacket! If you are a hiker, you can hike the ridgeline from...More

Great tram. We have been on others, but this one had to have the longest vertical we've experienced. Fortunately, the forest fire smoke had cleared and the views are awe inspiring. The couple mile trail loop at the top was just right for spending a...More

The admission was spendy, but my father assured me it was worth it and he was right! The tram goes much higher than I expected and the views of the lake and surrounding area were beautiful. Once at the top, we ate lunch at the...More

This was our second visit to Wallowa Tramway and we returned because we like the hiking at the top. The "main route" for hiking is under 2 miles but there are additional hikes that will take you up the mountain farther. The view is wonderful...More

The ride up on the tram is not my favorite part - I don't like heights. However, the hike around the top and the cute, personable animals are worth the trip up. Make sure to take a bag of raw, unsalted peanuts. You will be...More

The ride is a thrill and the views at the top are awesome! It seems that morning is the time to go if you want a quieter time to take in the views. By lunchtime it can be quite busy. Look for the unmarked spring...More

This was a fun excursion up a 8000ft mountain. The views were amazing and the trails on top just about the right length. We headed up early and had breakfast at the top which was fun. This was a bit spendy but something I would...More
