Great half day on the rapids
Jul 2019 • Couples
Went out with Bill and team for a half day on North Umpqua River. Very well organised, staff super knowledgable on the region, and experienced rafters. Had an amazing time.

Great trip.
Jul 2019 • Family
Lots of rapids with just enough drifting between to get ready for the next one. Bill was a great guide and you can tell he loves what he does. We drove an hour+ to get there and it was totally worth it. Nice equipment. Efficient transport back to your car. Great value.

Best rafting trip
Jun 2019 • Couples
I’ve been on a lot of rafting trips, and this was by far the best. The river was the right mix of calm and rapids and the guide, Bill, was so knowledgeable and fun. We were on a three week road trip in the PNW and we did so many fun things, but both of us agreed this was the highlight of our trip. We are hoping we can do it again one day!

Cool (literally and figuratively) experience! Do the full-day trip.

One of the best white water experiences I've ever had. Sharon was friendly and informative before the trip, even as I kept having to shift arrangements and numbers. Bill and Justin were great guides, they know the river and the area. It was particularly wonderful that all of the optional wet and drysuits were included in the price of the trip -so many companies nickel and dime you for that kind of stuff and believe me, if you're used to warm water temps (like our group from Florida), you'll want it all. Can't wait to see the GoPro videos they recorded. We stayed in the guest house and one of the apartments they offer the night before the trip, it was a huge amount of space and very comfortable for our group of 12. The Scouts and Leaders of BSA Troop 184 loved our North Umpqua experience.

Wonderful People & Beautiful River
Jun 2018 • Couples
Bill, Caulder, and Sharon were absolutely wonderful and the North Umpqua River is scenic and beautiful. Water runs clear and cold with Class 3 & 4 rapids in the upper 2 segments of the river. It's a nice mix of rapids, scenic floating, more rapids, wildlife....you get the idea. Mid-way through the 2 segments we took a lunch break - walking up the path we were greeted with a nice lunch of pre-ordered sandwiches, chips, cookies, and drinks. Then it was back on the river for more rapids and beautiful scenery. Bill provided narration on local history. Caulder was polite yet firm in telling my finance to paddle instead of taking so many pictures. I've rafted in Alaska and New Zealand and the North Umpqua River is right up there for beauty and thrills. And North Umpqua Outfitters are the way to go!

Fantastic Experience
Jun 2018 • Family
This was our first time whitewater rafting and it was truly amazing. The North Umpqua is absolutely pristine with old growth forest and crystal clear waters. Can't imagine anywhere more beautiful. Bill is an exceptional guide with decades of experience. We always felt safe and comfortable and his knowledge of the river, geology, wildlife and history of the area thoroughly enriched our experience. I highly recommend North Umpqua Outfitters.

The Best Guide on the North Umpqua
Apr 2018 • Couples
Bill is such an amazing guide! He knows this river like the back of his hand, and it shows. His main goal is to make sure you have the best time you can with him! He knows where to drop in for the best splash effect and where to drift to do spins with the raft. Bill has been on this river for 28 years, so he knows the history of it as well. It's an amazing experience to hear Bill explain historical facts as you raft down the river. I couldn't recommend anyone other than North Umpqua Outfitters to give you the best experience possible on the North Umpqua River!

A great time on a beautiful river with an experienced guide.
Apr 2018 • Couples
I had an amazing time rafting down the river with North Umpqua Outfitters. Bill was our guide and his 30+ years on this river showed with his extensive knowledge about the river, its surroundings, and its history. This is an area of pristine beauty, that is constantly changing with the wilderness around it. Bill knows when every fire (scars very visible from the river), and even what year trees you pass under fell.
I am not very comfortable in the water, this was my first experience rafting and I always felt 100% comfortable with my guide and my surroundings. I would definitely recommend North Umpqua Outfitters to anyone looking to have a great time on the river!

Never fails to meet all expectations. Fun, safe professional service every time.
Jun 2017 • Friends
I am an avid outdoors person and I have also been in the customer service field most of my life. I expect to get my moneys worth and I expect good service which I have received nothing but every time I have rafting with Bill and his crew. I have been rafting with Bill for close to 28 years now. Safety is his number one goal but he knows how to help you have the most fun possible within those guide lines. He and his wife Sharon are also very committed to the community around them and were key in helping the firefighters fight the devastating fires this last summer by porting them and their equipment across the river. A++ service all the way!

Horrible
Jul 2017 • Family
We had fun but miss placed our keys at the end of the trip. Bill (the owner) had a horrible attitude and was down right RUDE!

We will take responsibility for providing a fun rafting adventure as we have been doing this for 28 years. We are sorry that this guest put her keys in her group's personal dry bag and forgot that she did that. Due to her panic and accusations that it was our staff that lost her keys in one of our two vehicles, a staff member and I searched them thoroughly. When we could not find them. Next it was the shuttle driver who took them (my wife). To help calm this person/situation, I , the owner of the company, Bill B, firmly directed her to think hard where she put her keys. I am sorry she perceived this as rude. One of my staff quietly told me she found them in her personal dry bag.
