Franco Marchesi's passion for wine began in his hometown of Borgosesia, Peimonte, Italy. As a child he always wondered what it would be like to be a winemaker like his grandfather Achille. After running his own import company specializing in Italian wines for over 20 years, Franco began planting his favorite Northern Italian grapes in Hood River, where the climate and soil are just like Northern Italy. Please come visit, and taste our wines. Salute!

Have visited this winery twice now and equate it to being transported to a rural small winery in Italy. The staff is amazing and we love the Barbera wines. Highly recommend this as a must see when sampling Oregon wines.

Pretty tasting room, winery dog (of course) and a winery cat (how fun). Nice staff, decent wines. Reasonable tasting fee at $10 as you get a good group of wines to taste. They really promote joining the wine club. Nice outside patio.

Sitting outside in the shade was lovely. The server was great about coming out to see if we were ready for our next tasting in the flight.

I agree that asking Marchesi directly is necessary.
