The Columbia River Gorge was something I've wanted to drive and see for some time. I knew that some areas were badly damaged by the 2017 Fire, but it was still a great trip! Bonneville Dam is worth a visit. And, of course, Multnomah Falls-...More

Enjoy some of the best views around. Stop in the small towns and enjoy friendly people and great drinks and food. Best Pizza is in Bingen, WA at Beneventi's Pizza and the best dinner is in White Salmon at Feast.

My GF traveled to the Columbia River Gorge for a weekend getaway from our home in Hillsboro. Driving along Rte 14 on the Washington side gives you a more relaxing drive with much views than 84 on the Oregon side.

We drove along the gorge and stopped at many of the lovely waterfalls along the way! Beautiful views. Some roads still closed due to the wildfire damage a year ago, but a short detour gets you there

Don’t miss the gorge if you go to Oregon. We stayed in Hood River, which is a good vantage point. Great hiking. Spectacular views from the town.

Driving from eastern Oregon to Portland was a wonderful treat, especially driving along the Columbia River Gorge! We love Western history especially the story of Louis and Clark, so seeing that huge body of water right next to the highway was a delight!

We hiked the Starvation Creek trail, which has great views of the gorge, river and trains passing through. Highly recommend stopping!

As answered above, all the gorge is great for hiking, but the waterfall area in Oregon is more famous for waterfalls.
