What a treat to finally drive to Mt. Hood from Hood River! A beautiful, easy drive...passing vineyards, orchards and stunning views along the way. A stop at Trillium Lake is wondrous! Picnic tables are nestled in the woods. Timberline Lodge is a national treasure. Tours are given by very informed docents three times a day. Breakfast and lunch buffets are... More

The drive to the mountain was very scenic. If you look closely you can see the path of the volcanic destruction in the forest. Once at the top, they give little talks which were very interesting. The movie was circa 1970 I think but still very interesting. The stories posted very moving. Definitely a must see for nature lovers.

I've been ON the mountain in the past and skied at the lodge there. It was an incredible trip. This time we just gazed from afar. The view is amazing. Even from downtown Portland.

The scenery around Mt. Hood makes it a trip worth experiencing for young and old alike. There are hikes and waterfalls enough to fulfill the wishes of the most ardent outdoors family.

Mount Hood looks over the entire area with a beautiful snow capped peak. Near the summit is the Timberline lodge. A great place to stay or pop in for a drink or meal. Traveling up the mountain from I85 is about 45 - 60 minutes. A stop at Tritium Lake is well worth the few minutes extra while on the... More

We stayed for a few days and it was so lovely we wished we had more time to explore. You can see snow-capped Mount Hood on one side and Mount Baker in Washington State on the other. Very scenic and beautiful.

Great place for either the sporty of people who want to ski or walk, or people that just want to soak up the scenery with amazing views of the Mountain as well as the surrounding area. We visited on a clear sunny June day, when they were still skiing. You could just spend hours up there, soaking up the ambience.... More

I lived in the northeast my whole life so I was really taken by the beauty and spectacle when I rounded a turn and saw the mountain for the first time. It's a truly an amazing sight. I hope someday to live where I could sit on the porch and gaze for hours.

We really enjoyed our visit to Mount Hood while touring Oregon. The snow everywhere was such a treat, especially because we live in the Deep South. The best part was our lunch by the window at the Timberline Lodge....fabulous views. We loved it and we were glad that we stopped here.
