    Majestic View
Majestic view. You don't get to see the mountain easily since the top can be quickly covered by clouds at any time. Check the weather before you go and you should be able to admire the beautifully rugged mountain in a distance.

Excellet hotel. Would definitely stay again.
This is a perfect place to stay for the Mt. Hood area. The hotel was fairly new so had all the current amenities. This was one of our favorite hotels on a 20 day road trip. The setting is awesome. They had a hot breakfast with lots of options. The room was clean and welcoming and had all the standard amenities. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

    Cold, windy, bright, beautiful
May 6, 2024. 32° blowing snow bright and very cold. They just got 16 inches of snow in the past 24 hours and another 2 inches while we were there. We drove a very small car and it was fine until you got into the parking lot, which was not plowed and full of snow, snow and slush, but I love this mountain and the lodge. Doesn’t get any better than this!

Timberline Lodge (Mt Hood) - beautiful views, good food, and warm fireplaces.
Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood is a wonderful historic lodge with many dining options, fabulous fireplaces, impressive craftsmanship, and stunning views in many directions. I did not stay overnight, so cannot comment on the rooms. During my May 2024 day excursion, there were many snowboarders having fun. This granny travels solo (ADA), so the Mt. Hood Shuttle Express was a terrific and economical option to get to Timberline Lodge (Mt. Hood) from Sandy, OR. As of May 2024, one-way was $2, or all-day pass for $5 (cash only, no digital pmt). Took about one hour each way. Their online schedule may differ slightly during heavy snow or high winds.

Cherry Wonderdog visited Mount Hood in April 2023, and even though there was no snow on the ground in Hood River, and day temperatures reached near 70, Mount Hood stood as a majestic snowy beacon in the distance, beckoning us to come closer. We ultimately did, by driving up the mountain road to reach the snow parks and, ultimately, the famous Timberline Lodge. Not surprisingly, temperatures plummeted as we ventured through Mount Hood Parkdale, and we hit the snow line rather quickly, but we had no idea that there would be this much. There must have been 10 feet of snow on the side of the road, and hiking Mount Hood Park Division Recreation Area (Parkdale) was an exceptional experience. Even the bathroom buildings were nearly covered in white stuff.

Take it from Cherry Wonderdog: Mount Hood is truly a beautiful mountain, and the whole area is worth visiting, especially in spring.

We went to Mount Hood in July from Hood River to Portland Oregon. We stayed at Still Creek campground. Campground was pretty unique as it was huge. Big sites. We had fun watching a couple back their travel trailer into the site across from us. Our son sat in a chair and ate a bag of chips. My husband was helping! We visited Trillium lake, went to Timberline lodge, checked out the creek. Really gorgeous area.

We saw the mountain from the ski slope area. It is a majestic mountain and I’m sure it is much prettier when it’s snow covered. It was a nice stop on our way home.

We traveled south from Hood River Valley down Rt35, enjoying the different angles of the peak from the road. We stopped at Lake Trillium to enjoy the water and Hood makes a stunning backdrop that reflects in the lake surface.

Everyone wants view of Mt. Hood from Trillium Lake, however parking very inadequate during peak times. There is no place to turn around once you get there.
Fascinating views of Mt. Hood. We did not have enough time to hike.
