To see and experience Mt. Hood is to see and experience the best of Oregon. There are too many activities and places to make a list. It is a beautiful (dormant) volcano with year round snow. Many outdoor activities are available such as skiing, biking, hiking, exploring; beaches and water sports can be found nearby on the Columbia River. Hood River is a nice place to begin one's travels of the Mt. Hood region and then work the loop around the mountain to discover so many other interesting and splendid small towns and other sights.

My husband and I took a half a day trip to Mount Hood and fell in love with the area. It was a Friday morning and there was minimal cars around to ruin the experience. We randomly found a pull off a for Trillium Lake which offered one of the most beautiful sights you can see. Once you leave the National Forest area, you are in in area with vineyards and orchards. Of course, they also have ski lodges and such that you can go to in Mount Hood if you're into that. It's a beautiful drive and definitely recommended.

So many neat things to do around Mt. Hood! We stayed at Hood River - love this little town! It is a beautiful volcano that has snow on it all year long! Many outdoor activities are available such as skiing, biking, hiking, exploring, beaches nearby on the Columbia River. Love this area so much!

there's a lovely HH site with beautiful views of Mt. Hood from our RV ! near hwy 32 in Parkdale, Oregon and owners allowed HH' guests ' to pick cherries, blueberries and raspberries for free. They were getting ready for " U-PICK" own berries . beautiful views and a local winery where we purchase take-out pizza!
