Thank you for reviewing. Because we are a living history collections our displays are often shuffled around to take them out to fly and drive or to help tell a different part of the transportation story. New items are also routinely added by the volunteer...More

Thank you for the review. Memberships are available for those that can't pack all the fun into one day's visit. Visitors can apply their admission price toward a membership at the end of their visit on that day too.

If old cars and planes are your thing then this is for you. Unsurprisingly the emphasis is heavily on American equipment but there are some European examples. The thing I liked best is that this is not a static display but these are in. The...More

Thank you for reviewing. On the Second Saturday of the month WAAAM opens up its hangar doors for a play day with the collection. It is one thing to intellectually know that the collection can still get fired up and it is another thing to...More

From the moment you pull into the parking lot at WAAAM you begin to feel an air of excitement as the exhibits include some pieces situated outside, including a navigation beacon and a railroad caboose. It's not all airplanes, even inside, but make no mistake...More

Thank you for the review. For another up-close look at the transportation of yesteryear don't miss WAAAM's photo car of the month. In this special corner of the museum visitors can "get behind the wheel" of one of our touchstones of the past.

Amazing collection of antique vehicles and airplanes. Volunteers help restore the items on display and are very knowledgeable to explain and answer your questions. Hood River is lucky to have this piece of history meticulously displayed. You could spend a whole day at this museum.More

Thank you for reviewing. Much of WAAAM's automobile restoration is done on the musuem's display floor for all visitors to enjoy. To check out the airplane restoration shop for more behind-the-scenes action, visit during a Second Saturday event for a special tour. Both are a...More

We visited here on July 4th. Kept running into the parade and finally parked and watched the locals thoroughly enjoy themselves. The views from outside the museum are spectacular and pretty amazing from the inside tooMore

Thank you for the review. WAAAM's collection can often be seen out and about during local events like the annual Independence Day Parade, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and the Hood River Holiday Parade. These are another fun way to see the museum's living history in...More

This museum has everything and contains so many functioning antiques. Most of the cars, trucks, and planes are still functional and held in humongous hangers. The doors open to a runway and the cars are driven in local parades. I've been to similar museums in...More

Thank you for reviewing. With over 3.5 acres of indoor display space there is something for everyone to see and enjoy no matter what their interest. Transportation history covers a wide swath of fun stuff beyond just our airplanes, cars, and motorcycles.

Thank you for reviewing. Our average visit duration matches your time of 2.5 hours but we have had some folks buy memberships so that they can come back to see more when they couldn't finish in time with the regular day entry ticket.

Yes. Taking photos is highly encouraged and the volunteer hosts out on the exhibit floor are often more than happy to get you behind the display ropes for a super-up-close shot too.
