I first heard of WAAAM years ago, shortly after they opened. At first I thought "An antique airplane and car museum in Hood River? How good could that be?" I have come to rue those thoughts. If only I had visited much sooner. If you like antique planes, this is a must see, bucket list item. The number and variety of antique aircraft is simply astonishing. And the fact that the planes are maintained in flying condition - well, that is just fantastic. I am not a pilot, but I do like vintage aircraft. I love to see all the details that make up a craft that can take to the air, in the relatively simple form of old airplanes. You can see all the working bits in some of these planes. Take a look at the 1910 Curtis Pusher, where you CAN see everything. If you also like vintage cars, those are here in abundance as well. Would you like to learn how to drive old cars? WAAAM has you covered there as well. I have taken the Model T driving course, and will be back for another one. Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about WAAAM, it is simply wonderful.…

I love Aircraft and old cars and trucks ! This place is great ! Due to the COVID-19 you had to wear the mask but once inside you are treated to some wonderful planes and autos. This place is HUGE ! My personal favorite was the 1940 Airmaster , my father owned a 46 Airmaster and it took me back to being a kid again. The autos are very nice , love the old trucks. I hope to return next year with my wife and see them flying . This is a MUST see .…

We have many times visited relatives in Hood River but have always driven by. At an evening out we met a volunteer from WHAAAM who invited us out for a visit. WOW! The place is amazing, many, many displays of real aircraft, automobiles and equipment from the past. And the place is huge, we glossed over it in two and a half hours. We shall return. I highly recommend WHAAAM, even the grand kids liked it. If you have any aircraft interests at all, it is worth a night or two in Hood River to see it.…

We just happened to stumble across this place while killing time driving around on vacation. Saw it and stopped. Awesome place for car and aviation geeks like myself. They also have a kids zone in the museum that I literally had to take my kids kicking and screaming out of. They have a lot of rare 1of1 aircraft and there’s always someone riding around on scooters to ask questions too. Awesome time. …
