Beautiful!

Amazing! Beautiful beyond belief. The hike was moderate incline on return, but the beauty was worth having to rest.

Nice trail - little "hobbit holes" in the woods to peak into. Beautiful secluded beach. Trail had some small hills, could be a slippery when wet in places but that is with any trail in the woods.

Out of this world magical experience. It's kind of hard to find the entrance to the trail, but it's well worth the trouble searching for it. Entering the trail you are transported to this magical out of this world place where at the end you are rewarded with a beautiful secluded beach sometimes all to your self.

Our group was aware that this hike existed but was unable to find/remember a location. We got to the trail a round about way through the Carl G. Washburne Campground. The campsite acts as a trailhead for several hiking trails. Once we wound through the forest, we popped out at a small roadside parking area labeled only really with a... More

This is a great short hike to a nice beach. It is a very quiet beach because of the hike. A good place to spend some time. You can also hike to Heceta light house.

The Hobbit Trail was an excellent hike for my whole family. Mile post 177 is the closest landmark and the trail heads opposite side of 101 were China creek and Valley Trail. We had no trouble parking and quickly crossing 101 but I passed it later in the day and the small pull out was full and traffic heavier on... More

We were not able to follow the trail completely, since part of it was closed down. Not comfortable giving something a 5-star rating without having seen all of it, hence 4 stars only. When we visited, it was a beautiful, sunny morning, but we saw no other people on the trail. There is a path through moss-draped trees and ferns... More

We did this hike with our three teenagers. It leads down to a quaint little beach. It's a nice hike with several switch backs.

Moderate hike through West Coast forest. Distance is about 4 miles round trip to Heceta Lighthouse from the trail head on 101. Allow at least a couple of hours to appreciate the beauty. You have to watch your footing so if you hurry, you'll miss the sylvan grandeur. If it's warm, take water. And don't forget to give some to... More

This is a lovely hike to a gorgeous mostly secluded beach. It's not very easy to find though we found looking for Mile Marker 177 to be the easiest way (right off 101 so be careful should you cross the street!) Almost feels like Lothlorien in places for those LOTR fans like me out there! Hopefully your Fellowship will enjoy... More
