A local pleasure
Jan 2020
I ride my recumbent trike around this lake quite often.. beautiful views and lots of friendly people...

I did have a close encounter with a surly horse that tried to kick me as I rode past..
Had to drive over into the ditch and into some bushes to avoid it...

A peaceful trail
Feb 2019
This is a wonderful and nice peaceful trail. It is paved so potentially good for biking although it is not in pristine shape. There is a nice view of Dorena Lake. The trail is pretty long, there are usually a large array of mushrooms, flowers, wildlife, and lichen. This trail is nice but it does not stand out of the myriad of trails in this area.

Its a great path for walking, running, biking! Goes a long way! Lots to explore, see. Picnic, swimming. Either a long the river or up along the lake. Enjoy

pretty ride

Beware the trail is rough in spots. If you're on a road bike with slim tires pay attention to the condition of the trail in spots. Nearby covered bridges are not particularly well marked on the trail, so bring your map if you want to find them. There is no potable water the entire length of the trail, so bring plenty (although there are a few bathrooms). Also, plan on doing an out and back rather than loop by returning along the road. The road is busy and there is a narrow shoulder, not safe for cyclists. We rode 33 miles out and back, lovely trip through farm land and around Dorena lake. Easy, flat trail.

We rode bikes along the trail. It was so peaceful and beautiful. This trail is well maintained and can be enjoyed either by walking or bike for all ages

Nice
Jul 2019 • Couples
This is very nice trail. We did 20 miles and enjoyed entire trip. Went past the Dorena Damn almost around entire lake until we came across equipment working on trail. Stay on north side of lake if you want to avoid road traffic. There is one long upgrade but great coming back. This was great find in our west coast stop b

get out of the car and go for a walk

Beautifully maintained by BLM that has graded rises and drops. Once part of the railroad used for hauling logs now cleaned up and blacktopped. Even if you are just a beginning walker this is doable is stretches of 2-4 mile increments. Took me four days to walk it doing a section at a time. Pass the Mosby and Currin covered bridges. Parking at trail heads and the old Scale House on Mosby Creek road.

A lot of tree damage
Mar 2019 • Couples
Not able to use the trail because of extensive tree damage from the snow storm in February, but the bridge is very interesting.
